Dr. Isaías Íñiguez, Dr. Jorge Martinez, Dr. Laiza Íñiguez Smith, and Dr. Javier Ramirez are devoted to making our practice in Los Algodones a destination for excellent dental care at a great price, as well as providing you with a relaxing break from your daily routine. Our Location

Los Algodones is a small Mexican town located on the northeastern tip of the municipality of Mexicali, Baja California. Situated 9.9 miles west of Yuma, Arizona, Los Algodones is quite close to the borders of both Arizona and California. The official name of our city is Vicente Guerrero, although most people refer to it as Algodones or Molar City. In addition to dental vacations, Los Algodones has recently become a popular tourist spot and is home to many inexpensive shops and restaurants.

Transportation

For patients traveling from the U.S. by car, Los Algodones is most easily reached via Interstate 8 and south just a short distance along State Route 186/Andrade Road to the international border at Andrade, California. For our passengers arriving by plane, we offer transportation services from the airport to your accommodations. We are here for you from the moment you land on the ground.

Accommodations

While you may stay wherever you like during your time in Los Algodones, our practice does offer comfortable and convenient accommodations for our patients via AirBnB. We have three options in nearby Yuma, Arizona which are available for your consideration — a large Camper/RV (Casa Smith Bunk House Camper) for up to 4 guests, a smaller Camper/RV (Casa Smith Little Camper) for up to 2 guests, and a single guestroom (Casa Smith’s Hidden Gem Suite) for up to 4 guests. All three of these accommodations are beautifully decorated and hosted by our own Dr. Laiza. Best of all, the campers and guestroom offer all of the comforts of home and are available for affordable prices. Attractions

In addition to the shops and restaurants of Los Algodones, our patients enjoy a number of other local attractions. The Yuma sand dunes provide a wide array of activities, including hiking, biking, camping, birding, and water sports. Downtown Yuma is the home to various activities and hosts a number of restaurants, cinema, art gallery, theater, gyms, antique stores and hosts block parties and street fairs on particular weekends. Just down the street from the downtown area is the Old Yuma Territorial Prison and museum, which is a favorite amongst tourists. Organized day trips to the Coachella Valley are popular among our patients who are eager to escape the winter of their hometowns. Los Algodones also celebrates frequent fiestas throughout the year, especially during the Christmas season.

What to Expect on Your Journey

Many of our patients are surprised by how simple and enjoyable traveling to our dental office can be. Unlike the Tijuana port of entry into Mexico, the entry to Los Algodones is much smaller and easier to traverse. You may decide to drive across the border or walk, depending on what makes you feel more comfortable. Be aware that pedestrian border crossing typically takes a bit longer in the winter. To help ease any travel anxiety, our team will pick you up when you walk across the border and transport you to your hotel or directly to our office (depending on your plans). If you choose to drive yourself, our office has its own parking lot for your convenience.
